Middleton Railway and Park

Middleton Railway is located close to the centre of Leeds in West Yorkshire. Trains run every Saturday, Sunday and bank holiday from Spring until later in the year. They also run on Wednesdays during the holidays. Middleton Park is open all year round and is one of just two stations on the Middleton railway.

Things to do at Middleton Railway and Park

Middleton railway is called a pleasure train as its only purpose now is to take passengers in and out of Middleton Park. They also run a few special events, throughout the year including Santa trains. At the station for the railway, there is a small museum. This has one long gallery of train engines, some of which you can walkthrough.

The train ride takes around 10 minutes. Return tickets are valid all day. They have diesel and steam engines. The main park once at Middleton is a relatively steep walk up a long slope. Once at the top, there is a pretty lake with a cafe. There is also a playground with play equipment for younger and older kids.

Middleton Park is around 470 acres in size and there are plenty of pathways. We went for a walk up to the Urban bike hub which has a series of fun BMX trails of varying degrees and difficulty.
