Mugdock Country Park
The Mugdock Country Park is located in Mugdock near Glasgow, Scotland. It is around 260 hectares in size and is also home to a historical site.
Within the park, there are the remains of the 14th-century Mugdock castle which was a stronghold of the Grahams of Montrose. There are also the ruins of the 19th-century Craigend Castle which was a Gothic Revival mansion and a former zoo. Also within the park are the remains of numerous anti-aircraft trenches which were established during WWII as part of the area’s anti-aircraft defence system.
There are a number of walking and cycling routes within the park and there are natural features including the Allander Water, Mogdock Loch and Drumclog Muir. There are also two formal play areas situated near the courtyard and visitor centre. There is a range of play equipment which is suitable for children up to the age of 8. For children over the age of 8, there is an adventure trail with obstacles in a woodland setting.
