Museum Overview
The Museum of Norwich at the Bridewell is located in the centre of Norwich, Norfolk. The museum has two floors and it explores the city’s industrial history with galleries, tours and hands-on activities.
Exhibitions include a look at Norwich starting from 1700 with a closer look at Norwich from the 20th century to the present day. You can learn more about the city’s 200 years of shopping and trading and there is a recreated early 20th-century chemist’s shop with all its potions, packets and pills.
Beneath the Bridwell, there is an undercroft which is the largest vaulted undercroft in the city. The rooms were part of the original medieval house and were once used for storage. It was later used to hold inmates.
