Museum Overview
The Museum of Witchcraft and Magic is located by the harbour in Boscastle, Cornwall. Inside there is a significant collection of occult art that is devoted to folk magic, ceremonial magic, freemasonry and Wicca.
Its collection has been described as the largest in the world with over 3,000 objects. Some of their more popular items are magical tools such as athames, wands and other Wiccan items. Plus crystal balls and talismans that were made by soldiers in the trenches of WWI.
Originally founded in 1951 the museum has been at this site since 1960. Inside there is a room which recreates a traditional cunning woman’s cottage. Plus exhibits devoted to the witch trials in the early modern period plus other practices. There is even a small case of modern religious Satanism. Children visiting the museum do so solely at the discretion of accompanying adults.
