No 1 Royal Crescent

No 1 Royal Crescent

No 1 Royal Crescent is a museum located on the famous Crescent Street in Bath, Somerset. It has been decorated and furnished to look how it would have probably looked around 1776-1796.

What is there to see at No 1 Royal Crescent?

It is the first building at the eastern end of the crescent where Henry Sandford, the very first resident of the street lived. He lived there from 1776 until his death in 1796. It is a magnificently restored town-house museum decorated with historic furniture, pictures and objects that reveal what life was like for Bath’s fashionable residents.

Their new immersive experience brings the house to life through film and sound so that you can get a very real sense of what it would have been like to live there. There is a Georgian dressing room where you can dress up in Regency-style costumes and accessories. You can then pose against a mural of the city of Bath.

Rooms you can see include the parlour, dining room, bedrooms, servants’ hall, courtyard, kitchen, scullery and more. They also run activities including crafts and more.
