Ogden Water Country Park
Ogden Water is a scenic nature reserve with stunning lakeside views near Halifax in West Yorkshire. It is a popular destination for walks, family outings, picnics and nature activities. It was voted Yorkshire’s favourite reservoir in 2018.
What can you do at Ogden Water Country Park?
The nature reserve offers the opportunity to escape the stresses of everyday life. There is a level footpath around Ogden water and three longer walks from the site. The large reservoir is surrounded by mixed coniferous and broadleaf woodlands. With numerous formal and informal paths, Ogden Water offers the ideal place to explore woodlands, grasslands, streams and ponds. It is also a good starting point to explore the wider countryside and open moorland beyond.
Cycling is not permitted on the site, but there are a number of bridleways passing close by. The site has a visitor centre with a coffee shop. In there you can purchase some duck food to feed the local wildlife.
