Old Thatch Teashop
The Old Thatch Teashop otherwise known as the Pink Tea Room is located in Shanklin on the Isle of Wight. It is a beautiful award-winning tearoom that oozes character and quirkiness and is an enchanted place to visit with lots of fairies to spot.
Originally built in 1690 as fisherman’s cottages it is believed to be the oldest building in the town. It was transformed into a teashop in 1940 and has been developed over the years. Beneath the Old Thatch, there is a mysterious tunnel that takes you about 500 metres further on towards Ventnor. This was used by old-time fishermen, smugglers and pirates.
Outdoors their fairy garden is full of surprises. You can sit out there in nice weather and be transported to their little world of wonder with fairies galore and a number of fairy houses.
