Ormesby Hall is a National Trust property located in Ormesby near Middlesborough, North Yorkshire. The hall is home to the Pennyman family and with gardens and parkland, it is a green oasis in the heart of industrial Middlesborough.

What is there to do at Ormesby Hall?

The house is Grade I listed and it is an 18th Century mansion house that was built in the Palladian style. You can explore the hall with rooms including the Drawing room, Dining room, some of the upstairs bedrooms and a few smaller rooms.

There is a really cute miniature railway on display in the servant’s wing. There are three permanent model railway layouts in the house: Corfe Castle, Pilmoor station and the interactive Thomas the Tank Engine.

They have many special events, throughout the year including family-friendly events, during most school holidays. These usually include a trail of some sort. In the grounds, there is a natural play area and you can also enjoy walking at Ormesby Hall. There are around 240 acres of woodlands, fields, running streams and more to explore. There are three walks listed on the website which you can download and print.

You can visit for free if you are a member of the National Trust. Mid-range – Adult standard ticket is £6.00, children £3 and children aged under 5 are free.
