Pentewan Beach

Pentewan Beach

The South Coast of Cornwall offers a number of great beaches, with one of our favourites, Pentewan. The beach itself is a private beach, located in front of the Pentewan Sands Holiday Park. Non-residents can use the beach, bar and eateries and even pay to park at the resort if there’s a space in the public car park. The holiday park also offers a car park located on the other side of the main road during the busy season for around £5 per day.

Alternative parking is available in the small village of Pentewan but this can get busy in the summer with limited free, spaces. Pricing is good here for their paid car park, but you’ll want to get there before 10 am for a guaranteed spot.

Pentewan Beach is a large stretch of beach with water sports hire, a wooden play area on the beach and lovely soft sand. With its own private slipway, those with their own boat or jet ski can arrange easy access to the water. The waves are normally quite small in this cove so don’t expect any decent surfing or bodyboarding, but it’s perfect for paddleboards and swimming. Bring your swimming gear, inflatables and paddleboards for the best possible entertainment.

If you like coastal path walks, then take the path to the right of the beach (as you look out to sea) for an amazing rolling hill and cliff walk of approximately 2 miles to Mevagissey with incredible views. There’s a burger restaurant, Hubbox, directly on the beach, a pub/bar, fish & chips in the holiday park and a pub in the small village should you get hungry during your visit. Access to the toilets in the holiday park (next to the restaurant) is free, of charge.
