Plym Valley Railway
The Plym Valley Railway is located in Plymouth, Devon. The railway was founded in 1980 with the aim of restoring part of the ex-Great Western branch line from Plymouth to Tavistock. Today it is a heritage railway with a 1.5-mile track.
What can you do at Plym Valley Railway?
Their heritage railway centre is run by an enthusiastic team of volunteers who are preserving steam and diesel locomotives, carriages, wagons and other historic railway artefacts to recreate the atmosphere of a bygone age.
Situated at Marsh Mills there is the Plym Valley Miniature Railway. This was launched in 2016 and the railway runs for almost 100m with plans to extend further. This runs during special events, and on Sundays. There is plenty to do near the Plym Bridge station including cycling on the Plymbridge Woods family cycle trail.
