Polesden Lacey
Polesden Lacey is an Edwardian country house with a magnificent collection of antiques and vast parkland. Located on the North Downs near Dorking in Surrey it is one of the National Trust’s most popular properties.
What is there to do at Polesden Lacey?
There are many rooms within the house that you can explore. Rooms include a dining room, saloon, tea room, gun room, billiard room, central hall and more.
The gardens and wider estate are perfect for families and are great for enjoying picnics while letting off some steam. They often have school holiday activities such as Woodland forest school. The estate is home to a wide variety of butterflies. There is a modestly strenuous walk perfect for walkers of any age. The walk takes around an hour and a half and is a great opportunity to spot some of their many butterflies.
There are lots of natural places to play at Polesden. There are natural climbing frames along Admiral walk or you could have a go at den building in the woods. There is also a natural play area called Squirrels corner. They also have some huge swings in the trees for families to swing on. At home farm orchard there are even chickens you can say hello to.

Is there food and drink available?
There is a coffee shop and café serving a limited range of hot and cold drinks and light snacks. There’s also a place to buy takeaway cold drinks and ice cream by Admiral’s Walk. You are welcome to bring a picnic.

A historic house you can explore, extensive parkland with a butterfly trail, natural play areas and school holiday activities. There are toilets and places to purchase food and drinks.
What are the ticket prices?
Free for members of the National Trust. An adult ticket costs £15, children £7.50 and children under 5 are free. Family tickets are available.

Is there parking?
There is parking and this is free for National Trust members. Non-members will have to pay to park.
