Poole Museum

Museum Overview
Poole Museum is a local history museum located in the Old Town area of Poole, Dorset. It is set in a Victorian quayside warehouse with an atrium extension that dates back to 2007.
The museum has four different buildings. There is Oakley’s Mill which houses the museum displays. Another building is the medieval Wool Hall which was originally built around 1300. This has impressive stone walls and is now the Poole History Centre. Across the street is another building, Scaplen’s Court Museum. This is open in August to the public.
There are over 150 pieces of the world-famous Poole Pottery, a 295 BC log boat that was discovered in Poole harbour and other items that tell the story of the maritime town of Poole. They host family-friendly events, and activities including trails, dressing up and other hands-on fun.
