Portland museum is located on the Isle of Portland in Dorset at the southern end of the hamlet of Wakeham. It is housed in two 17th-century Grade II listed thatched cottages.

Located a stone’s throw from Rufus Castle and the stunning Church Ope Cove. The Isle of Portland is joined to the mainland by the world-famous Chesil Beach and is a real gem of a museum with something to interest everyone. Inside you can find out more about the author Thomas Hardy and the museum founder.
