Preston Park Museum and Grounds
The Preston Park Museum and Grounds are located in Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham. It is a 100-acre public park and it hosts multiple events, each year.
What is there to do at Preston Park Museum and Grounds?
In the park, there is an excellent adventure play park with an impressive tree-top climbing frame and a dedicated area for toddlers. You can enjoy one of their river and woodland walks and discover the park’s wildlife.
There is a skate park where your kids can practice their tricks or admire the many skateboarders and BMX riders who use this great facility. There is also a small gauge railway that runs in spring and summer. It is a miniature railway run by volunteers. Also in the warmer months, you can explore the park’s walled garden. There is a woodland walk open from April to October and it includes natural play areas for kids including a mud kitchen.
Victorian Street is the park’s museum and there is a lot to explore. There is a Toy Shop where kids can play with traditional toys. Plus a sweet shop, police station, blacksmiths, grocers and printers. There are also drapers, a chemist and a violin maker.
RiverShack provides boat rides on the River Tees. These operate during peak season only and there is a charge for the boat rides. Also in the park is Butterfly World which is run as a separate attraction and has its own opening hours and entrance fee.
