Puttstars Mini Golf is a new concept in crazy golf in York, North Yorkshire. They are in the Monks Cross area on the outskirts of York and it is an indoor attraction with three 9-hole courses to try.

You can prebook a time slot although once there you are free to take part in the crazy golf when it suits you. You can also turn up on the day but you can only play if they aren’t too busy. There are also amusements and a restaurant serving a good range of hot and cold food and drinks, plus a bar. We spent around 1.5 hours there and completed all three courses but we didn’t purchase any drinks etc nor go on the amusements.

When you arrive you are given a code to use on touch screens on all the holes. This keeps track of your score which is scored differently from normal crazy golf. For example, a hole-in-1 would score you 1,000 points, 2,000 if you had used one of your two jokers on that hole. The three courses are Slingshot, Pinball and Zig Zag, they are all themed according to their name. The holes were in great condition and some of the obstacles were really unique and great fun. They can even host your child’s birthday party. They have a range of packages even one for teenagers.

How much you spend depends on how many rounds you play and what offers are available. I paid around £20 for myself and my son to play three rounds. Children are discounted up to the age of 15.
