Queenswood Country Park and Arboretum

Queenswood Country Park is a large family-friendly park with an arboretum in Leominster, Herefordshire. The biggest draw for families is the Gruffalo trail. It features 5 larger than life sculptures from the popular story by Julia Donaldson. Make sure you pick up the activity pack with added extras to complete along the trail. This is available at the Queenswood gift shop for £1, you don’t need the pack to find the sculptures. The trail itself is 1.5km long and suitable for buggies and pushchairs.

The arboretum covers 47 acres with over 1,200 rare and exotic trees from all over the world. Plus 123 acres of semi-natural ancient woodland. There are easy-access paths and waymarked trails (in addition to the Gruffalo trail). As well as a visitor centre there are picnic facilities including three on-site barbecues and a pizza oven you can hire. Make sure you visit the panoramic viewpoint where you can admire views of the Malvern Hills and the Black Mountains. Kids will love the large woodland adventure playground. There is plenty to climb, swing and play on.

There are a number of surfaced, easy-access paths joined together into a waymarked trail, for those using electric mobility vehicles (EMVs). The car park includes disabled parking spaces.
