Leisure Centre Overview

Redcar Leisure Centre is located in the centre of Redcar, North Yorkshire, close to the beach. There is a gym, group fitness classes, two swimming pools and they even have a Flowrider for everyone wanting to learn to surf or even to perfect your surfing without being in the cold sea.

The swimming pool is host to their award-winning swimming lessons as well as other aquatic activities. The main pool is 25 metres in length with six lanes. Next to the main pool is the teaching pool with a moveable floor. There is also a beach pool with a slide and other features for the kids.

The FlowRider takes on all aspects of board sports. It has the look of surfing, the ride of snowboarding, the tricks of skateboarding and boards derived from wakeboarding. The water is no more than three inches deep and flows over a stationary wave. This is fun for children and adults from novice to expert. You must be 1.1m tall to use the bodyboard and at least 1.3m tall to use the flowboard. You can also enjoy a range of activities in their sports hall. The venue also has a sauna and a steam room and they can even host your child’s birthday party.
