Rock Up Whiteley

Located in the Whiteley Shopping Centre in Hertfordshire is Rock Up Whiteley. It is a wall-climbing centre with an eye-catching range of climbing walls great for families. No experience is necessary and there are plenty of fun challenges to keep you all healthy and active. The walls are bright and colourful and there is something to suit all abilities with some walls being more challenging than others.

The centre has 26 climbing walls to try, there are exciting challenges available for all abilities. Some of their walls are over 8 metres. You can climb the Stairway to heaven or try and set a new record on the speed climb. A climbing session lasts for around an hour. You will also need to allow additional time for getting your harness fitted plus you will have a safety briefing about how to use the equipment. (duration of this varies).

All the walls have an auto-billet system that stops you from falling meaning no one needs catching and it’s easy to lower yourself back down to the ground. Supervisors are close at hand at all times. Their standard sessions are suitable for all climbers aged 4 years plus. They also have special toddler climb and play sessions plus Autism and SEN-friendly child or adult sessions.

This venue also has a soft play area. There is lots for them to explore including slides, swings, a ball pool and obstacles. They can even host your child’s birthday party with packages that include climbing, food and drink. Brand new climbing experiences are available now in Rock Up Whiteley which include two unique climbing walls and an exciting new High Ropes course. These experiences are available now at no extra cost.

Rock Up Whiteley is the first in the Rock Up group to receive a High Rope course like this. The course is 8m in the air and runs around the perimeter of the climbing arena. It consists of tunnels, hanging bridges, rope traverses and a huge zip-line across a 10m gap above the centre. Climbers can safely brave the adventure while attached to the ‘Safe Roller System’ and watched over by a dedicated and well-trained member of the Rock Up team. That isn’t all, along with the High Ropes addition are two new themed climbing walls; ‘Soccer’ & ‘Trek’. The walls feature unique challenges to test each climber’s abilities.
