Rockingham Castle
Rockingham Castle is a Norman Castle in Rockingham, Leicestershire. As well as being a venue for weddings it is also a visitor attraction. The house was built under the instruction of William the Conqueror and it has been a family home for the past 450 years. It is approximately two miles north of the town centre of Corby.
Although the castle is still lived in there are some rooms open to visitors. These include the servant’s hall, old kitchen, great hall, panel room plus three others. The castle’s architecture has examples from every period of its 950-year history.
The castle stands on the edge of an escarpment giving dramatic views over the Welland Valley and the surrounding five counties. There are 18 acres of gardens to explore including a vast and impressive ‘Elephant hedge’. They are well known for their family-friendly events, throughout the year.
