The Royal Pavilion is located in the centre of Brighton, Sussex. It is a spectacular Grade I listed former royal residence that was built in three stages as a seaside retreat for King George IV.

Things to do at Royal Pavilion

The palace mixes Regency grandeur with the visual style of India and China. It is certainly an unusual and impressive building especially considering its location.

Inside you can see a Banqueting room with a table set for the King, This is a truly magnificent room! You can see the Great kitchen, saloon, music room and Royal bedrooms where three royals once rested. There is also the Indian Hospital gallery which tells the story of when the Royal Pavilion was used as a military hospital in WWI.

Outdoors you can explore the gardens with gentle winding paths and irregular groupings of trees, shrubs and flowers. They also host a number of events, including basement and tunnel tours and behind-closed-doors tours.
