Museum Overview

Rugby Art Gallery and Museum are located in the centre of Rugby, Warwickshire. They are housed in a purpose-built building that was opened in 2000 and this is shared with the library.

The museum covers different times in our past with a look at Roman times, Rugby’s rich industrial heritage and the birth of football. Changing gallery spaces showcase exhibitions of contemporary and modern art as well as pieces from local artists and craftspeople.

There is also the Tripontium collection which showcases artefacts from the Romano-British town of Tripontium which was located 5 miles from the centre of Rugby. The gallery is in the style of a Roman marketplace. It is an interactive space where children can have fun while they learn about Roman life.

During school holidays they run a range of free, events, for families. There are also play sessions during term time for younger children.

They have no dedicated car park however the ASDA car park is next door to them. Parking is free, for two hours and a maximum of three hours is allowed.
