Salters Steamers
Salters Steamers is a boat hire and river boat trip company located in Oxford. They are a family firm and they have been providing hire and boat trips on the River Thames for over 160 years.
They have punts which can be hired out with a chauffeur for one hour. Or you can have a go at it yourself. Plus there are rowing boats for up to four people, electric motor boats and diesel day boats for up to 6, 8 or 12 people. Boats are hired on a first-come-first-serve basis or can be booked in advance on the day. Children are welcome on their boats and life jackets are available.
There is usually a choice of boat trips on offer. They run short trips plus longer trips to Abingdon and music cruises. Their 40-minute daily return trips run from April through to the end of September, subject to weather. They also run themed trips such as an Alice in Wonderland cruise, a lunchtime picnic cruise and trips to Marlow.

Punt with chauffeur £75 for 1 hour if booked in advance. Rowing boat from £25 for 1 hour. Diesel boats from £60 all day. Boat trips – 40 mins adults £12.50, children £8 and under 3s are free. Other options are available.
