Samlesbury Hall
Samlesbury Hall is a historic house located in Samlesbury, Lancashire. The first lord of Samlesbury manor was believed to have lived in the Lower Hall area from 1185. The Great Hall was built in 1325 with the restoration of the southwest wing in the late 16th century, the house has had a long and varied history.
Today you can enjoy a guided tour of the house. These are free and usually take place on Sundays. Their tours will give you an insight into the fascinating, educational and often bloody history of the hall. Tours include witch tours, spooky tours and more.
Outdoors you will find the new Mayflower playground. There is a replica of the hall and a mini version of the Mayflower ship. They also have a wooden trail with bridges, swings and lots of fun obstacles. Early descendants from the house were amongst the first pilgrims to set sail to America in the 17th century aboard the Mayflower. Most half-terms and through most of the main school holidays they have special fun-filled days.

Are they accessible?
The grounds and ground floor are accessible to wheelchairs – they are sorry but unfortunately, some of the upstairs rooms are not currently accessible, but there is access to the galleries via a stair lift. Please contact the venue for further information.
