Sandwell Valley Country Park
Sandwell Country Park is located on the outskirts of West Bromwich in the West Midlands. Leisure facilities include a pitch and putt course, cycle trail, tennis courts, adventure playground and animals.
What is there to do at Sandwell Valley Country Park?
Priory Woods is a local nature reserve within the park. It has 52 acres of woodland and pools inhabited by wildfowl. It also contains the ruins of Sandwell Priory. Footpaths in the reserve link to other areas of the country park. Forge Mill Lake is also a nature reserve and is 160 acres in size. There is a lake with a footpath around it. There is also a hide and an RSPB visitor centre.
There are two working farm visitor centres. Sandwell Park Farm is a restored Victorian farm with rare breeds and a walled kitchen garden. Forge Mill Farm has a farm shop and a farm trail.
The playground at the park includes climbing nets, a rope bridge and an eight-metre-high tower with a slide and swings. Plus a double zip wire, a roundabout, a play tractor, a trailer and timber sculptures. The playground is suitable for children aged 5-13.
