Screech Owl Sanctuary

Screech Owl Sanctuary

The Screech Owl Sanctuary is located on Trewin Farm in Saint Columb, Cornwall. It is open to visitors and in the winter you can visit for free (entrance fee at other times of the year).

As well as being able to walk around their aviaries they also offer owl talks and owl-handling sessions. Their talks are a unique opportunity to see a number of their hand-tame owls and learn about their characteristics. The handling sessions are offered on a daily basis with their experienced staff. These are very popular and can be requested during your visit or booked in advance which is recommended at busier times. Participants must be 11 years old.

You can see other animals including alpacas, emus, meerkats, pygmy goats and raccoons. They have a wide range of British and European owls. Plus other owls from around the world including America, Asia and Africa.

Alongside their flying displays and owl talks, they also have animal talks and feeding sessions. You can even feed their emus, alpacas and goats. Plus they offer animal encounters for children aged 8 and over. These include Meet the Meerkats, Meet the Wallabies, Meet the Foxes and Meet the Lemurs. There is also a children’s play area with some recently installed equipment. It is surrounded by picnic benches next to Tiggy’s tea room. They can even host your child’s birthday party.
