Severn Valley Railway
The Severn Valley Railway is a heritage steam railway operating full-size mainly steam-hauled passenger trains in Worcestershire. There are 16 miles of track along the Severn Valley between Kidderminster, Bewdley and Bridgnorth.
What is there to do at Severn Valley Railway?
The Engine House is their indoor visitor centre. Located at Highley it is home to their reserve collection of full-size locomotives. You can see behind the scenes and explore the interactive exhibits and there is also an outdoor play area.
There are six stations with Kidderminster station being the main station where passengers join the railway. Nearby you can see the Kidderminster railway museum the Coalyard miniature railway and there’s even a museum of carpet. Bewdley station is one of their larger stations and is a great place to watch the trains go by or go for a leisurely walk. At Hampton Loade station there is a “live steam” model railway that operates every Sunday when the train service is in operation and during some special events. Bridgnorth is their terminus station at the northern end of the line. Like Kidderminster, it is also a starting point for many of its visitors. There are a few things to see and do in the local area. They also host a range of family-friendly events, throughout the year.

Dog friendly?
Dogs can travel on their service trains (£3 charge) but should be kept on a lead and must not sit on the seats. With the exception of assistance dogs, dogs are not admitted to the first floor of The Engine House Visitor Centre, where the ‘Highley Cafe’ is situated.
