Shamrankana Kinetic Theatre
The Shamrankana Kinetic Theatre is one of the most popular and unique attractions in Glasgow. It has been enthralling audiences for over three decades since it first opened in 1989. Founded by a sculptor-mechanic and a theatre director. Its dynamic shows are layered with cross-cultural stories full of multi-sensory experiences and are loved by all generations. The amount of detail in the pieces will have you coming back for more.
Performances of kinetic sculptures are attended by thousands of visitors every year. They have exhibited across the world yet Glasgow proudly remains its main base. Each show features a selection of uniquely crafted kinetic artworks, enhanced by synchronised soundtracks and bespoke lighting designs.
Hundreds of carved figures and pieces of old scrap perform an incredible mechanical choreography, telling funny and tragic stories of the human spirit. There are usually three shows on offer which range from a run time of 30 minutes to one hour.
