Slieve Gullion Forest Park
The Slieve Gullion Forest Park is located near Meigh in County Down. It has play areas, nature walks, a storytelling trail and a scenic drive. Within the grounds of the park, there is an adventure playpark with something for all ages. There is a specially designed toddler area and play equipment for older children. There is a zip wire, slides, climbing frames and outdoor gym equipment for adults.
Other things to do include a wooden maze and you can enjoy tranquil woodland trails with some stunning views. Fionn’s Giant Adventure is a popular guided walk. You can book their expert elf who will lead children through a rich tapestry of local legend while learning about the local flora and fauna. This can be tailored to suit preschool and primary-age children. You can also download an app to take photos with the legendary Fionn Mac Cumhaill as you trek along his magical adventure trail.
The Slieve Gullion Passage tomb is worth a visit which is the highest surviving passage tome in Ulster. There are 10km of woodland and mountain heath to explore with a way-marked trail plus a scenic drive which takes you to the passage tomb.
