Museum Overview

The Solent Sky Museum, previously known as Southampton Hall of Aviation, is an aviation museum located in Southampton, Hampshire. The museum depicts the history of aviation in the area.

There are around 20 aircraft on display starting from the golden age of aviation as well as the Hampshire Police and Fire Museum. You can come and see the home of the Spitfire and the largest flying boat operation in the world.

You can learn about the contribution to the Great War by local aircraft manufacturers and the story of the first aircraft to sink a submarine. Although they house many aeroplanes their core is still the Supermarine Spitfire which was designed and built in Southampton.
