Southwold Pier
Southwold Pier is located in the town of Southwold, Suffolk. It is a coastal pier that extends 190 metres into the North Sea and it is a popular place to visit. The pier was rebuilt in the 1990s after years of neglect and it has seen some major improvements over the years.
They have three eating venues, pier shops and some amazing machines. These were created by the eccentric inventor Tim Hunkin and they amaze and delight visitors to the pier. The Under the Pier show is a truly unique and eccentric collection with nearly 20 machines for you to try.
At the front of the pier, there is a traditional seaside amusement arcade and it is a great place for enjoying views of the beach. The pier even has a wacky walk of mirrors. Look out for the water clock that has two metal men that perform every half hour. You can also fish from the pier. You must purchase a day permit and the end of the pier is the place for some quality sea fishing.
