Museum Overview

St Neots museum is located in St Neots, Cambridgeshire. It is a friendly local museum that tells the story of the busy market town. It is housed in the Old Court which is a former police station and law court.

The museum is relatively small and includes the original 1907 cell block where prisoners were detained. They organise a variety of specialist family events, from walks, talks and one-day festivals plus temporary and touring exhibitions. There are a number of galleries where you can explore stories from an 11th-century Benedictine prior to their original Edwardian prison cells.

One of the highlights of the museum is ‘The Story of St. Neots’ which tells the story of the town’s long history. There is a ‘Village hall’ gallery which tells the history and traditions of the area including finding out what a school was like in the Victorian period and how people spent their leisure time.
