Stonor Park

Stonor Park

Stonor Park is a historic house with gardens and amazing play areas just a few miles north of Henley-On-Thames in Oxfordshire. The house and gardens are open to the public and have been home to the Stonor family for 850 years.

What is there to do at Stonor Park?

You can explore the house with each room containing a lifetime of fascinating treasures. The origins of the house date back to medieval times. Highlights include the grand Gothic revival hall, the 17th-century library and the dramatic long gallery. The lush parkland of Stonor is set in a dramatic sweeping valley within the heart of the Chiltern Hills. There are three gardens to explore with ponds, fountains, an Italianate Pleasure garden and an old Kitchen Garden.

Tumblestone Hollow is a mysterious world of play. The adventure playground is themed on the new book “The Legend of Tumblestone Hollow’ which is based on magical characters that live in and around the playground. It has been designed for children aged 4-12 and their families. This is a new and exciting play area in the park. There are large boulders within the playground that recreate Stonor’s ancient stone circle from which the house takes its name. There are high-level walkways, climbing nets, look-out decks, bridges and a tower.

Stonor Park is also home to Wonder Woods which is another wooden adventure play area. There is water and sand play (take a change of clothes), plus all sorts to climb and play on. Stonor Park also hosts a range of annual events.
