Stowe National Trust
Stowe is run by the National Trust and is located outside of Buckingham. It is a great place to get the kids outdoors with acres of space to run and stretch their legs.
What is there to do at Stowe National Trust?
The gardens and park provide the ultimate backdrop for igniting little ones’ imaginations. There is a world of lakes, magical woods, large temples and twisted trees waiting to be seen and explored.
At Stowe, you can explore 1000 acres of landscaped park and deer park. The parkland is free, to access with local footpaths that link up to the parkland. There are lots to discover including Stowe Castle, Bourbon Tower, Boycott Pavilions, Wolfe’s Obelisk and more.
Stowe House is managed and opened by the Stowe House Preservation trust. Separate admission charges and opening times apply. The house is filled with rooms imitating ancient worlds and classical ruins. Ceilings and walls are decorated with hidden messages that hint at the family’s former power and glory. Sadly excessive spending led to bankruptcy. The richest family in England became the greatest debtors in the world.
