Swanage Railway
Swanage Railway is a heritage railway located in Swanage, Dorset. It is a branch line that runs from Dorset to Swanage that first opened in 1885. They have a range of full-size steam and diesel passenger trains.
The track is 5 and a half miles long from Norden to Corfe Castle and down to the Victorian seaside town of Swanage. The line has stations at Corfe Castle and Harman’s Cross as well as a halt at Herton on the outskirts of Swanage and Swanage itself.
If you are looking for something special you can book on one of their dining trains. They also hold a number of special events, throughout the year. On your journey, you will be able to appreciate the rich history of the area, its abundant wildlife and fascinating geology. When Enid Blyton holidayed in the area she used the railway and would generally include a train journey inspired by her own experiences in her Famous Five books.

Dog friendly?
Dogs are welcome on board but must be kept on a lead and on the floor. The fare is £ for a single journey/£3 for the return journey. There is no charge for assistance dogs. Dogs are not permitted in the Buffets, the Dining Trains, the Station Shop or on the Santa Specials (assistance dogs excepted).
