Tain Museum
Museum Overview
The Tain and District Museum and Clan Ross Centre are located in Tain in the Scottish Highlands. It is an independent and volunteer-run museum which was first established in 1966.
Inside there is a large collection of 18th and 19th-century silver that was made in Tain. The museum changes many of its exhibits each season. Displays have included items from Highland regiments and transport items from the 19th and 20th centuries. Plus new technologies and more.
The centre also helps people research their clan roots. The museum forms one part of the larger visitor centre on the site. Tain Through Times includes the Collegiate Church and Old Schoolhouse. You can take an audio tour through the church and the ancient Royal Burgh.
