Tangmere Military Aviation Museum

The Tangmere Military Aviation Museum is located on the former site of RAF Tangmere in Sussex. There are many aerospace exhibits covering the First World War through to the Cold War. This includes fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters and aircraft engines.

Museum Overview

Amongst the many attractions, there are numerous interactive displays, aircraft cockpits and simulators for visitors to experience. They run family cockpit days where they open as many of their cockpits as possible for the public to sit in or view.

Outdoors there are six historic aircraft on display plus part of an old WWII air raid shelter. Indoors there are a number of halls with more aircraft and other exhibits. There are three simulators, one for combat, another a Lightning simulator and the third is a Red flight simulator. Some are suitable for children but they are mostly for adults. Staffing levels permitting they can also offer free guided tours of the exhibition halls. These tours last around 20 minutes with two tours available on most days.

An adult standard ticket is £11, children aged 5-16 are £4.50 and under 5s are free. Family tickets are available.
