The Dinosaur Museum
The Dinosaur Museum is located in Dorchester, Dorset. It is dedicated purely to dinosaurs and although small in size there is plenty to discover inside.
First opened in 1984 the museum transports visitors back into the prehistoric world of dinosaurs. It is set in a converted Victorian schoolhouse in the centre of the town. You can see dinosaur skeletons, walk among life-size reconstructions and learn more about dinosaurs through hands-on displays.
You will be able to hear the sounds and even smell the breath of a T-Rex. Plus there is the opportunity to see and touch their real fossils on display including dinosaur heads, teeth, eggs and even poo. Kids will love the excavation pit and there are dinosaur puzzles to solve.
