The Little Chapel

The Little Chapel is only tiny but it will be a wonderful place for your kids to see and it is certainly somewhere you will never forget. The chapel is situated in the Les Vauxbelets valley in Saint Andrew, Guernsey.
The chapel was built and created in 1914 by Brother Deodat. He wanted to create a miniature version of the grotto and basilica at Lourdes, the Rosary Basilica. It measures just 16 feet long by 9 feet wide and it is covered in mosaic tiles. The chapel that stands today is actually the Brother’s third attempt as his first two were deemed far too small. He never saw his finished chapel.
It is decorated with pebbles, broken china and seashells. It is amazing to see and the chapel fits just 8 people. It was majorly restored a few years ago and is not one of the most popular places to visit in Guernsey.
