The Pavilion Gardens

The Pavilion Gardens are located in the centre of Buxton, Derbyshire. They feature restored gardens with a botanical conservatory, outdoor play area, events, fairs, an arts centre, boating and more.

What is there to do at The Pavilion Gardens?

The site is a Grade II listed historic venue that shows off the Victorian splendour of Buxton, the venue dates back to 1871. There are 23 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens on the banks of the River Wye. The gardens were restored in 2004 at a cost of £4.5m.

The park is home to many squirrels and ducks and two different play areas. There is an area for younger children to play safely with things to climb, crawl, hide and slide on. There is a small ball court and for the older kids, there are swings, climbing frames and activity areas.

Located within the gardens there is a miniature railway. This operates at weekends and throughout the school holidays (weather dependent). There is also a boating lake with 6 rowing boats and 5 pedalos, each allowing up to 4 people. This is open from April to September at weekends and every day during the school holidays. Indoors there is a toddler play area, this is a small soft shape play space. You can sit here and enjoy food and drink from the Pavilion Kitchen.
