The Strand Pool
The Strand Pool is part of a seafront complex located in Gillingham, Kent. It features a crazy golf course, swimming pools, sports pitches, a mini railway and a cafe. The Lido Pool is not artificially heated and is a saltwater pool.
The pool includes a paddling area and a lazy river. It is said to be unique in the UK as the only riverside pool that uses filtered salt water, in this case from the nearby river Medway. There are ample sunbathing areas around the spacious pool. The pool first opened in 1896.
The lido is open seasonally during the warmer months. There is a range of outdoor activities including an outdoor gym, riverside walks and 2 children’s play areas. Plus a parkour arena and free, use of outdoor tennis courts. There is a small charge for the mini train and crazy golf.
