The True Crime Museum
The True Crime Museum is located on Hastings Seafront in Sussex. Its exhibits display forensic evidence depicting violent events, related to serial killers, gangsters and more. This attraction is recommended for families with older children.
Museum Overview
It is set in 3,000 sqft of seafront caves and is home to the largest collection of crime memorabilia in the UK. You can see a genuine lethal injection deathbed and the actual acid containers that were used by John George Haigh to dissolve his victims. Plus the bathtub used by the contract killer, John Childs which he used to dismember his victims in the mid-1970s.
Visitors can also guess the crimes of the celebrities from their police mug shots. It is a truly fascinating insight into the world of serial killers, forensics, gangsters, prisoners and more. There is also a Cinema Cave where infamous murderers describe their hideous crimes. It is not a haunted-style attraction like the popular Dungeon attractions. The displays are more informative than scary. That’s not to say that it’s not gruesome though.
