The World of Beatrix Potter

The World of Beatrix Potter

The World of Beatrix Potter is a small museum in Bowness-on-Windermere, Cumbria with interactive exhibits that tell the story of Potter’s writing and her importance to Lakeland Conservation.

The magical tales of Peter Rabbit and his friends are brought to life in three dimensions. For the ultimate Peter Rabbit experience why not add a Peter Rabbit-themed afternoon tea in their character-themed family-friendly cafe? As well as the exhibition there is also an award-winning outdoor Peter Rabbit garden and a gift shop.

The exhibition is a vibrant attraction that brings enchanting stories to life with all your favourite characters from the books with interactive elements and a trail sheet for little ones. The garden is small but it brings the kitchen and cottage gardens to life from Beatrix Potter’s illustrations. There are many details from the stories including the watering can which Peter hides in, his jacket transformed into a scarecrow and the cos lettuces that Benjamin nibbled on.
