Thousand Islands Expeditions

The Thousand Islands Expeditions are located in St Davids in Pembrokeshire, Wales. They have been operating wildlife adventure boat trips since 1975 and they have the sole landing rights to Ramsey Island RSPB Nature Reserve.

They offer boat trips to see the Islands of Ramsey, Skomer or Grassholm on the Pembrokeshire coast. You can witness some of the most powerful currents in Britain and pass beneath some of the highest sea cliffs in Wales. Plus you will see some spectacular breeding colonies of hundreds of nesting seabirds on the cliffs around Ramsey.

Ramsey Island is also home to one of the UK’s largest Atlantic Grey Seal colonies. Hundreds of pups are born there from late August to October. At certain times of the year, you can also watch the Harbour Porpoise feed. You may also see Common dolphins or Risso’s dolphins. They also run wildlife trips across St Brides Bay to watch the Puffins around Skomer Island.

The Ramsey Island Ferry boat runs twice a day from Sunday to Thursday (they are closed on Fridays and Saturdays. There are two departures a day from the 1st of April to the 31st of October. As well as their ferry boats they also run a variety of cruises including a 1hr15 min boat trip around Ramsey, Ramsey Rhib tours, seabird and dolphin trips plus guided walks on Ramsey Island, 2hr puffin trips and more.

Dog friendly?

Dogs are welcome on our dog-friendly boat trips around Ramsey Island. Some dogs are happy onboard, while others find it stressful, it is up to you to decide but please, no barky verbal dogs as they upset the other passengers. Registered assistance dogs are welcome on Ramsey Island.
