Trecco Bay Beach
Trecco Bay Beach in Porthcawl South Wales, is a blue flag beach a short 15-minute walk from the centre of Porthcawl town. It is a sandy beach with rocks which are good for exploring. It appeals to families but the beach never gets busy so it’s a great place to visit on a bank holiday.
There are no facilities on the beach but it is next to Trecco Bay Holiday Park which is a caravan park with excellent facilities including a swimming pool, children’s play areas and entertainment. It is also close to Porthcawl Funfair and amusement arcades.
You can walk from Trecco Beach to Ogmore-by-Sea with castle ruins (be sure to check the tie times so you won’t get cut off) and Merthyr Mawr sand dunes, where the classic film Lawrence of Arabia was shot. Dogs are not allowed on the beach from May to September.
