Ulster American Folk Park

The Ulster American Folk Park is located in Omagh, Northern Ireland. It is an open-air museum that tells the story of the people of Ulster who emigrated to North America in the 18th and 19th centuries. At the museum, you can learn more about the lives that were left behind, the hardships that they endured on their journey to America and the pioneering spirit that came as they built their new lives in a new land. There are more than 30 exhibit buildings to explore.

Using costumed guides and displays of traditional crafts you will truly get a sense that you have stepped back in time. Around the site, there are many restored original buildings that have connections to local families. The museum also includes agricultural displays and there are farm animals.

There are whole streets of original houses including an original printing press, a bank, an old police barracks, a school and two churches. In one area there is even a full-size replica of an immigrant sailing ship. You can also see a recreated old American street with a tinsmith display and the original interior of a Victoria general store plus many other buildings.
