Wandlebury Country Park
Wandlebury Country Park is located in the Gog Magog Hills area of Cambridge, Cambridgeshire. Sheep and highland cows graze in this wildlife-rich nature reserve with 8 miles of winding paths that are open to the public.
What is there to do at Wandlebury Country Park?
The beautiful countryside estate offers walks through woodland and wildflower meadows that are grazed by Highland cattle. There are the remains of a circular Iron Age hillfort that is steeped in myth and legend, keep your eyes peeled for skeletons which are sometimes uncovered when trees fall down. Plus there is an 18th-century house, stables and gardens.
In the park, kids can enjoy den building and there is a games field for ball games and flying kits and it’s great for sledging when there is snow. There is a spring sensory trail that you can print at home and take with you. There are several avenues of trees at Wendlebury with the most impressive being a 400-metre-long avenue that leads to the Roman road and is great for photos.
