War Horse Valley Country Farm Park
The War Horse Valley Country Farm Park is located near Winkleigh in Devon. It is a proper working farm that opens its doors for a few hours a day for 6 months of the year.
What is there to do at War Horse Valley Country Farm Park?
Their 400-year-old cob barn is home to a museum. This has a WWI exhibition, an area where you can discover more about War Horse the famous book plus farms for city children and more. They also have a WWI trench, enter if you dare as there are a few surprises.
They have lots of animals, you can see including sheep, alpacas, ponies, rabbits, pigs, pygmy goats, ducks and more. There is a farm trail which is a circular 1/2 mile walk. Children can look out for a letter on each granite roller and together they form a place or person’s name. Wellies are recommended and it is very hilly in places.
When they are open they have a tractor trailer ride which departs every day at 3:45 pm. The journey takes you across their fields and returns back at 4:20 pm with enough time left to visit the Tea Room. They also have table tennis, a football pitch, toy tractors and cars. Plus a sandpit, playground and tractor-style pedal karts.
