West Lancashire Light Railway
The West Lancashire Light Railway is a 2 ft narrow gauge railway that operates at Hesketh Bank near Preston in Lancashire. The track is short at 430 yards and they are open every Sunday and bank holiday from April to the end of October. Plus Santa specials in December.
Their heritage steam trains run frequently from 11:30 to 4:30 and tickets are valid all day so you can ride as many times as you please. Their trains run from Becconsall station through the woodland between the village and the Douglas River to Delph station.
They are a family-friendly venue and as well as five steam engines they have more than twenty small diesel, petrol and battery locomotives. There may be extra attractions and a higher charge on event days.
