Western Isle Cruises runs boat trips from Mallaig in the Scottish Highlands. They also operate the daily Knoydart ferry service to Knoydart and Tarbet. Their ferry routes run as single trips so you must book your outgoing sailing and your return sailing separately. Ferries run Mallaig to Inverie. Mallaig to Tarbet. Inverie to Tarbet. Mallaig to Rum. Mallaig to Muck and Mallaig to Eigg with return trips available for all routes.
They run a variety of cruises throughout the year including puffin spotting trips for when puffins are in the area. Cruises last for around 30-45 minutes and some for 1 hour. Please see their website for current sailings.
Their one-hour wildlife cruises are a perfect way to see the local wildlife. These are designed to fit in with the Jacobite steam train and Scot Rail. The waters are frequently visited by a variety of birds, seals, porpoises, dolphins, whales and basking sharks. This boat has toilets and a whisky bar on board. You are welcome to bring your own food on board.
