Outside they have a sandpit play area with buckets, pulleys and a digger. A little further down from here, there is a water play area with dams and trays. It’s great for teaching kids how water moves and how to release it into different areas. For older kids, there is a long zip wire and a series of climbing towers and tunnels.
There are 6 walks around the lakes. They are perfect for families as they are all between 1.3 and 2.8 miles long. All paths are accessible and colour-coded so you can follow the coloured arrows for your chosen route. You can pick up a map, free, of charge, this will help you find bird hides along the route. The lakes are a haven for wild birds, especially water-loving birds as most of the paths run alongside their lakes.
Indoors in the centre, there is a cafe and also a lovely adventure playground for the kids. Make sure you pick up a token for your kids to play for an hour. There is a small charge to use this play area. Most of the play equipment is made of wood. There are a couple of slides and things to climb and play on. Adults can pick up a snack or hot and cold drink from here while they wait.
